Mendenhall, MS – Tragically, 25-year-old Jordan Welles has passed away after drowning while fishing at a local reservoir near Ratliff Ferry. The incident occurred on the afternoon of April 27, 2025, when Welles, a beloved son and friend, was fishing by the water’s edge.

Witnesses say Welles was fishing from the shoreline when he slipped and fell into the deep waters. Despite efforts to rescue him, Welles was unable to be saved in time. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and immediately began efforts to recover his body, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jordan Welles was known for his kind heart, dedication to his family, and passion for the outdoors. He had always enjoyed fishing and spending time in nature. Friends and family remember him as someone who was always there for others, offering support and encouragement.
